New Material Polyimide

  Polyimide (PI) is a kind of high molecular polymer containing cyclic imide group in molecular chain. It is a kind of special engineering plastics with excellent properties. PI is known as a "problem solving expert", and can be processed into various forms, such as film, engineering plastics, fiber and composite material, such as matrix resin, binder and foam.

  Polyimides can be divided into four types according to different molecular chain structures: homobenzene PI, soluble PI, polyamide imide (PAI) and polyether imide (PEI). Polyimides are one of the organic polymer materials with the best comprehensive performance, with high temperature resistance of more than 400 ℃, long-term service temperature range of - 200 ~ 300 ℃, and high insulation performance.

  Polyimide has a wide range of applications due to its properties, such as:

  1. Polyimide can be used to make soft solar thin film panels.

  2. As the elastic modulus of polyimide is second only to carbon fiber, it is used as filter material and bulletproof and fireproof fabric for high-temperature medium and radioactive substances.

  3. Polyimide can also be used as advanced composite materials for aerospace, aircraft and rocket components.

  4. Polyimide can also be used as insulating paint for electromagnetic wires or as high temperature resistant coating.

  5. Polyimide may also be widely used in liquid crystal displays in the future.
