Performance and Application of PEEK

  Peek resin is a new type of special engineering plastics. It is called super heat resistant thermoplastic resin because of its comparable properties with polyimide. It has the following attractive characteristics:

  Corrosion resistance: no solvent can corrode it except concentrated sulfuric acid.

  Hot water resistance (can be used in 200 ~ 300 ℃ steam).

  Resistance to fatigue and creep (higher than that of thermoplastics;

  Processability: in addition to injection molding, it is also suitable for various molding methods

  Because of its high temperature fluidity and high thermal decomposition temperature, it can be processed by injection molding, extrusion molding, molding, blow molding, melt spinning, rotary molding, powder spraying and other methods. As a secondary processing, vacuum forming, calendering, stretching, ultrasonic welding, bonding, composite, machining and other processing methods can be used.

  Peek monofilament has better steam resistance, drug resistance, wear-resistant, creep resistance and toughness than polyester and nylon fiber. It is used in dry canvas, heat resistant Shanghai cloth, tennis racket net, composite material, heat resistant and drug-resistant textile belt.

  It can be used for long-term use of pressurized water or steam with 300 ℃ and can be used for a long time at 200 ℃, which is used for the manufacture of pump body and impeller of hot water and chemical pump, steam valve, O-ring, oil production connector, sheath of boiler and pH meter.

  Peek can also be used to manufacture connectors and valve parts for atomic energy power station, pulley blades, cover of microscope lamp, wire support around motor, battery slot for rocket, bolts, nuts, laboratory tweezers, etc.

  3. powder spray products

  Peek can be used to spray metal surface by electrostatic spraying or fluidized bed method to make heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant coating.

  4. other processed and formed products

  The large-scale finished products can be manufactured by rotating forming, and the nuclear waste container can be made by blow molding. The peek film can be bonded with metal by hot pressing to make composite materials with good high temperature bonding strength.
